RISE UP AGAINST VIOLENCE FEMALE LAWYER CHARGE WOMEN
More and more women are facing the challenge of ending all forms of violence against women and children in the country.
This appeal was made at the 30th anniversary of the International Women's Lawyers' Union, FIDA in the river state, with a focus on protecting the rights of socially vulnerable groups.
FIDA was established in Nigeria in 1964, 53 years ago, but the group celebrated only 30 years in the river state.
In her keynote , Judge Eberechi Suzzete Nyesom Wike, the wife of the Governor of Rivers State, noted that the potential of women in society remains compromised.
However, she regrets that many women have contributed to this issue on their own.
The highlight of the event was the establishment of a small business for 15 poor women and the provision of food by FIDA to 30 others in accordance with their family plans.
