DECLARE STATE OF EMERGENCY IN TARABA STATE - FULANI LEADERS
With a series of violent incidents in Taraba state, the elders of the Fulani-ruled community called on vice president Yemi Osinbajo to declare a state of emergency in the state.
In the past, Taraba state has a record of national and religious crises , has witnessed another round of violence.
The elders alleged that a group mobilized by the chairman of the local government had launched a retaliatory attack because he claimed that his ethnic group had been attacked by Fulani.
They say that without an emergency, they can not guarantee the protection of their people.
At the same time, the police headquarters ln Taraba have arrested the suspicious Mambilla attack, seven people were killed, clash between Fulani herdsmen and residents of Sardauna local government area
Property worth millions of naira was destroyed in the attack.
According to the police, some community leaders were arrested in connection with attack onFulani settlements involving Nguroje and other villages.
