10 GIRLS TRAFFICKED FROM IDP CAMPS RESCUE BY BENUE GOVERNMENT

The Government of Benue state has rescued 10 girls trafficked to Lagos, Abuja and Edo in the camps of internally displaced persons in the country.

 The girls who are displaced by the herdsmen's attacks on their communities are currently recovering.

 Governor Samuel Ortom revealed this at Makurdi, the capital of the Benue, and submitted the rescued minors to the Director-General of the national Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Human, Julie Okah- Donli),who in the state  to flag off NAPTIP regional awareness to combat human trafficking.

 The NAPTIP the Director-General, said that Benue is one of the states, and that the number of internally trafficked persons is widespread, revealing that four persons from the state had recently been rescued from Burkina Faso and that more than 300 traffickers had been prosecuted.

 Governor Odom condemns inhuman treatment of minors and is committed to supporting NAPTIP's efforts to get rid of traffickers.

 NAPTIP Director-General indicated that the flag of a regional awareness campaign against trafficking in human beings was part of an effort to examine the threat of trafficking in persons,

Ondo police arrest two for attacking Igbokoda monarch

Ondo State police have arrested two suspects suspected of attacking the Igbokoda monarch in a government area in the Oba Afolabi Odidiomo area in Ondo State On Thursday, the Oba was attacked by a mob in his community with a machete.
