BOMB THREAT AGAINST GABONS ALI BONGO
If President Ali Bongo did not step down within 72 hours, the Gabonese opposition activist was arrested on Friday after a threat to blow up the states building.
Minister of Communication Alain-Claude Bilie-By-Nze confirmed the arrest of Roland Désiré Aba'a Minko, who was an enthusiastic supporter of opposition leader Jean Ping
"At the request of the European Union, he was arrested at the headquarters of the European Commission," Alain-Claude Bilie-By-Nze told AFP
He said publicly that he was arrested shortly after planting bombs on "administrative and ministerial buildings", and that if the president did not step down within 72 hours, threatened to detonate them.
His statement was an attack on the main opposition party headquarters on Wednesday night. The party said that they have lodged a complaint to the police Thursday.
Jean Ping's official Paul-Marie Gondjout said: "Unidentified individuals throw two cups of motorcycle cocktails on the building.
The opposition coalition, led by the New Republican Union (CNR), condemned the arrested of the opposition activist Roland de Siren Abba Miko, saying: "He is only considered a member of the party and acted on his own will. "
The mandate of the International Criminal Court (ICC) will be conducted in the country on Tuesday to conduct a preliminary review by the government of Jean Ping and 15 non-governmental organizations in September 2016 that lead to a deadly post-election violence.
This was the violence of President Abu Bongo after the victory in the August 2016 election. The national parliament was burned and hundreds of protesters were arrested.
