PRESIDENTIAL JET IN LONDON
The presidency has reacted to the critisms of having a presidential aircraft standing by for President Muhammadu Buhari as he is being treated in London
In a response to these criticisms, Presidency spokeman Garba Shehu said that most of the dialogue on this topic came from those who did not understand the foreign travel agreement regarding to head of state.
According to shehu, he said that for the reasons of national security, diplomacy and prestige, there is no plan for the leaders of the world to travel abroad without immediate return or possible evacuation.
He added that the Nigerian armed forces took it as an obligation not to give up their commander in chief, no matter where he was.
He further clarified that if the free parking was not given, the Nigerian government could rest assured that it would pay no more than 1,000 pounds for parking the jet.
