Senate orders IGP to restore Obiano’s security
The Nigerian Senate urged the inspector General of police, Ibrahim Idris, to immediately resume the security assistant to Willie Obiango, Governor of Anambra.
The Senate resolution follows a procedure previously notified by Emmanuel Bwacha, whom previously told senators that IGP explained that the police want to level a playing ground for all contestant in the governorship election in Anambra state, which is not in line with the constitution.
Senator Biodun Olujimi subsequently moved a motion in which the Senate decided that the police should immediately and unconditionally restore Governor Obiano's security aide.
It also decided that Senator Abu Ibrahim, chairman of the Senate Police Commission, should ensure that the Chief of Police, Ibrahim Idris, immediately obeys the Senate resolution.
