ASUU rejects new tuition fees

ASUU rejected the recent increase in tuition fees for most Nigerian universities. The position of the ASUU was endorsed at the awards ceremony held by the Union, recognizing creditors who were considered reliable in reporting on education in the country. It describes the increase in the number of children who are trying to deprive the poor of quality education. The government uses 26% of its budget for funding education. For those who have been granted, this is a lot more work.

Fashola replies Senator Goje

Minister of Electricity, Works and Housing Babatund Fashola has responded to Senate's comments on his ministry  According to Fashola, Senator Goje mentioned that the patriotism of the legislator should not be spoken, but rather that he called for a more budgetary approach. He said he hoped that the legislators would be able to respond to the questions he had raised, rather than accusing him of the legislature. Fashola explained that his comments on the budget were because he wanted to work effectively.

More than 500 houses destroyed in Sokoto windstorm

Some parts of Illela local government area in  Sokoto state have suffered a devastating storm that destroyed more than 500 houses. The village head of Shiyara Namata, one of the most affected areas, told TVC News that the property worth about 25 million was destroyed. The roof top was blown away, and many buildings collapsed while it lasted  Some of the victims are currently attending to medical treatment  in the medical centers. The value of millions of Naira's property was destroyed in a region of the town of illela border in Shiyar Namata. This is a new layout, some of the affected buildings have not yet been occupied by the owners. The victims are seeking the support of the government so that they can return to their homes in a distant time. Illela is a border town between Nigeria and the Republic of Niger, which is occasionally struck by the Sahara Desert Storm.

THE COURT ORDER F.G. TO ISSUE THE NAME OF THE SUSPECTED LOOTERS

The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the federal government to immediately issue information and seizures to the Nigerians about the public officers who have recovered the public funds. Judge Hadiza Shagari made a judgment after the free litigation of information provided by the Social Economic Rights and Responsibility Program (SERAP). Shagari Justice agrees with SERAP, the federal government has legally binding obligations, telling the Nigerians past and present all names of plaintiffs suspected of public money. The group said the verdict showed a fight against corruption and the perpetrators of impunity.

SOLDIER REPEL BOKO HARAM ATTACK in MAIDUGURI

One  soldier  and several BoKo Haram fighters have been  killed  in two attack. between Nigeria soldier and Boko Haram One of the attacks took place at the Gulumba Gana site where the insurgents tried to attack the 81-district task force camp in the Bama local government area. Army spokesman Sani Usman said the soldiers had killed many suspected Boko Haram fighters who had launched two attacks on the military site but did not elaborate on their nationality. He said the mercenaries killed by the troops were those who fought on the side of Momman Nur a faction of Boko haram

EU To STOP FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO NIGERIA

The EU says it will not increase its economic aid to Nigeria, but rather increase its efforts to national institutions, politics and economic development for a more prosperous future. EU ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS Michel Arrion stressed in the seminar held in Abuja on Wednesday that the cooperation of the EU in Nigeria over the past four decades has been highlighted. Arrion said the EU's global strategic shift shows that Nigeria is neither poor nor dependent on aid, but that it has sufficient resources to meet its development needs. Arrion describes the EU's relationship with Nigeria, one of the equal partnership between Nigeria and the EU, and he agrees that it is based on shared values, aspirations and mutual trust, and Nigeria is a key partner with the EU's  in global affairs.

COMMUNAL CLASH IN KWARA STATE

Three people were killed and several others were wounded after the dispute between two neighboring communities, Ilofa and Odo-owa, in the Oke-ero local government area of kwara state. Eyewitnesses said that it all started when one of the traditional rulers from one of the two communities entered the market shared by the two villages, to flag off annual yarn festivals. It is reported that traditional ruler from the other community was not at rest with what they did in the market and went into the market  with criminals to dislodge them. Soldiers have be deployed to  maintain law and order.
