EU To STOP FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO NIGERIA
The EU says it will not increase its economic aid to Nigeria, but rather increase its efforts to national institutions, politics and economic development for a more prosperous future.
EU ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS Michel Arrion stressed in the seminar held in Abuja on Wednesday that the cooperation of the EU in Nigeria over the past four decades has been highlighted.
Arrion said the EU's global strategic shift shows that Nigeria is neither poor nor dependent on aid, but that it has sufficient resources to meet its development needs.
Arrion describes the EU's relationship with Nigeria, one of the equal partnership between Nigeria and the EU, and he agrees that it is based on shared values, aspirations and mutual trust, and Nigeria is a key partner with the EU's in global affairs.
