Yobe school attack : Govt. working with security forces to account for girls

The Federal and Yobe state government say it is working with security agencies to ensure that all the girls from the Government Girls Science and Technical College Dapchi, are safe.

Out of the 926 students in the school, more than 50 are still unaccounted for.

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the military and others security agencies to take control of the school.

He also ordered a delegation led by the Defense Minister to visit the school to get first hand information.

Meanwhile, Director of Press to Governor Ibrahim Gaidam, Abdullahi Bego says the Yobe State Government has been receiving information about some of the girls who escaped.

It says there are no credible information yet as to whether any of the schoolgirls were taken hostage by the terrorists.

Ondo police arrest two for attacking Igbokoda monarch

Ondo State police have arrested two suspects suspected of attacking the Igbokoda monarch in a government area in the Oba Afolabi Odidiomo area in Ondo State On Thursday, the Oba was attacked by a mob in his community with a machete. The traditional ruler sustain several cut on his head, and was left by the assailant to stay in a pool of blood. Fermi Joseph, a spokesman for the National Police Command, confirmed the arrest of a suspect in the television-radio news-gathering in Akure and also announced the leader of a thug who was wanted by a policeman Iván Tan. Police image maker also revealed that a 40-year-old man was arrested in the Okitipupa local government to kill a 70-year-old man.
