PDP calls for Buhari’s probe over Lawal, Oke’s sack

People's Democrats condemned (PDP) the dismissal of former secretary Babacher Lawal and the director of the National Intelligence Agency. It has called on the National Assembly to probe the president over  the way hes handling their removal Spokesman Dayo Adeyeye said that such a situation could be handled better by EFCC or ICPC. Adeyeye said that the statement on the law and Oke was a slap to the face of Nigeria. "This is an insult to the collective intelligence of our people, who patiently awaits the president's response to the corruption of the two main aides is  unacceptable,” he said.

Illegal detention : Court orders El-Rufai, police to pay Audu Maikori N40m

Abuja Federal High Court awarded 40 million Naire to President of Chocolate City Group Audu Maikori as compensation for illegal arrest and detention in February and March 2017. Judge John Saujo ordered four respondents in the basic human rights enforcement proceedings submitted by Maikori on May 5, Including the governor of Kaduna, Nasir el-Rufai, and the police to pay compensation to the applicant. The judge also instructed the respondent to pay N1,430 at the applicant's expense as the cost of insulting the suit

FG confirms six new cases of Monkeypox

The federal government has confirmed six other Monkeypox cases. These cases were sent to the World Health Organization laboratory in Dakar, Senegal. Minister of State for Health, Osagie Ehanire, said two cases were confirmed in Bayelse and Akaw Ibom, one of which was in Enugu and Abuja. The number of Monkeypox cases they confirmed in Nigeria is Nine Series of investigation are on going to know weather the new cases emanated from Bayalse state, that was the beginning of the outbreak At the same time, there were 94 suspected cases in 11 states.

Policeman kills 17-year old boy in Bayelsa, flees

A 17-year-old boy, Tomboizibe Joseph, was killed by a policeman on Thursday night in the Kpansia area of Yenagao, the capital of Bayalse state. The incident caused a chaotic scene, the youth Kpansia community hindered the free flow, while the police tried to maintain the security of the region and obey laws of the nation. However, when the local  caretaker  chairman  of Yenagao  committee,  Oboku Oforji's  arrived the scene and told the youth that Justice must be observed  according to the laws of the state in Bayaslse

Presidential panel on alleged rights violations by military begins sitting

The Presidential Investigation Group was established by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who reviewed the Armed Forces' compliance with human rights obligations and rules, which began in September and ended on Thursday in the southwest. The Panel is reviewing allegations of incitement to civilians by officers and examining the extent to which soldiers are in compliance with the rules of engagement. Is also investigating alleged violations of international human rights. The group led by the  Court of Appeal will also recommend ways to prevent violations in conflict situations. Members are expected to consider cases of all geopolitical areas in Nigeria.

President Buhari orders immediate sack of fugitive ex-pension chief Maina

President Mohammed Buhari directed the immediate sack from AbdulLlahi Abdulrashed Maine as the former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Force. In a memorandum to the Federal Secretary for the Civil Service, the Chairman also requested a comprehensive report on the recall of the Maine and the release to the Ministry of the Interior. The report will be submitted to the Chief of Staff, Malam Aba Kyari, before the end of the work on October 23, 2017,

Followed by a memorandum of understanding signed by unions and state government to  began to implement their demands by 2018. 3 suicide bombers kill 13 people in Maiduguri

The Boko Haram terrorist has repeatedly carried out multiple attack in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State. 16 people, including three suicide bombers die in the recent attack. In one of the attacks, a male bomber detonated explosives at the bus station, killing 13 people including himself. Five people were injured Two months ago the same station was attacked, and two person were killed. The other two female suicide bombers injured 13 people in another part of the town.

Olorogun Moses Taiga chatted with the press shortly after working on a temporary site at Degele-Elume Community University. Professor S. W. E. Nigerians trust Buhari – Presidency replies GEJ on fuel price criticism

PDP to hold Congresses in four Southwest states

Nigeria's leading opposition party, the People's Democratic Party (PDP), said it would hold a meeting in four states in the southwest. The states are Osun, Ogun, Oyo and Lagos. In addressing the crises in Akure, the capital of Ondo, the chairman  of southwest  PDP Eddy Olafeso said that the act of the conference has ended a crisis in the region. Olafasso said the Southwest side was prepared to ensure that the best candidate became the party president at the National Assembly held in December. He called on all aspirant  contesting for the chairman seat to  abide by the rules of the game.
