Edwin Clark Calls Off 90-Day Ultimatum Issued To FG

Image result for Chief Edwin ClarkElder Statesman, Chief Edwin Clark has called off the 90-day ultimatum given to the Federal Government to fulfill its promises to the people of the Niger Delta.

The Niger Delta leaders had called on the Federal Government to take more serious steps to protect the lives of Nigerian citizens in Bakassi.

 They also prepared the establishment of a pres pres commission commission to protect Nigerians kept living in Bakassi.

 Sure, the group had decried the non-ratification of the Green Tree Agreement which according to them, has the ability, if implemented, to protect Nigerians who chose to remain in Bakassi.

 The appeal was sent few days after hundreds of Bakassi indigenes were chased out of Cameroon with many of them feared dead.

 In March, the Federal Government had announced plans to resettle the IDPs from Bakassi as they described the ceding as a national loss.

 The Acting President who spoke at a town hall meeting in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, however, promised that displaced indigenes of the region would be resettled.

 He said the Federal Government would see to the construction of the Lagos-Calabar Rail to foster economic development in the state and for the good of the people.

Ondo police arrest two for attacking Igbokoda monarch

Ondo State police have arrested two suspects suspected of attacking the Igbokoda monarch in a government area in the Oba Afolabi Odidiomo area in Ondo State On Thursday, the Oba was attacked by a mob in his community with a machete. The traditional ruler sustain several cut on his head, and was left by the assailant to stay in a pool of blood. Fermi Joseph, a spokesman for the National Police Command, confirmed the arrest of a suspect in the television-radio news-gathering in Akure and also announced the leader of a thug who was wanted by a policeman Iván Tan. Police image maker also revealed that a 40-year-old man was arrested in the Okitipupa local government to kill a 70-year-old man.
