Army raids U.N. Maiduguri office in search of Boko Haram insurgents
The Nigeria army raids a search for a United Nations organization to find members of Boko Haram.
At least 30 other properties were looted in the area because a source told the army that members of Boko Haram were hiding there.
The army's statement revealed that the buildings, United Nations staff, were not designated by the United Nations, and the operation ended smoothly, but there was no arrest because the suspect was not found.
The statement said the army searched the property because there were some Boko Haram insurgents penetrating into the region's trustworthy intelligence.
However, a spokesman for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Samantha Newport, condemned the attack and said that the army had searched the building without permission.
United Nations staff members said the soldiers forced into the building.
