strange killer disease in kogi state

The death toll of a strange disease in the three communities and the Fulani settlement in yagba local  government area has risen to 62 years. National health commissioner Saka Audu said the mysterious disease continues to kill children and adults in affected villages. The Commissioner visited the ravaged community to obtain first-hand information and to assess the situation. He confirmed that 50 people were killed by strange illness. At the same time, governor Yahaya Bello approved the immediate formation and deployment of a number of medical experts to deal with this situation

Suicide bombers kill 27, wounded 83 in Konguda market

Suspected suicide bomber of the Boko Haram group killed about twenty-seven people,  injured 83 people  in  Maiduguri,   capital of Borno,   The attack took place in a market in Konduga, where a female suicide bomber detonated a bomb. There are also reports that two female suicide bombers also committed suicide at the door of a nearby refugee camp. This time there is no death record, but many people are injured.

BOKO HARAM STRIKE AGAIN

The Chairman of Madagali  local government in Adamawa state, Yusuf Muhammad and the Information Commissioner, Ahmed Sajoh, have confirmed Boko Haram's new attack in Nyibango and its environment earlier on Tuesday. According to independent sources, the two villages were attacked earlier Tuesday. The source said that many houses were razed to the ground while animals and food were equally burnt by illegal sects.

Edo Assembly elects new Speaker, Kabiru Ajoto

Members of the Edo Congress on behalf of the Akoko-Edo constituency, and Hon. Kabiru Ajoto, were elected as new speakers of the assembly. Members of the House of Representatives in the city of Benin on Monday after the Easter, elected Hon Ajoto, followed by the impechment of the  speaker Justin Okonoboh . According to the legislator, one of the charges against Okonoboh was that he closed the Edo State House of Asembly to attend his son's graduates in the United States. Mr. Ajoto told reporters shortly after his swearing that the exercise was carried out in accordance with due process. Also accused  Okonoboh of running the Ed gues House  like the private sector, Ajoto said that if not implemented, change the leadership is normal. He claimed that the former spokesman, despite repeated warnings, had adjourned the House of Representatives and had no due process in awarding contract.

Lindsay Lindley and Tobi Amusan's Nigerian men crashed in the women's 100m hurdles at the IAAF World Championships in London in 2017. In the first game, Lindley ranked seventh at 13.18 seconds, and in Australia's Sally Pearson, the score was 12.53 seconds. Lassa Fever outBreak

The Ogun State government has confirmed a case of Lassa Fever in the state and appealed to residents to take issue of both environmental and personal hygiene seriously. The State Commissioner for Health, Babatunde IPAYE made this known in Abeokuta during a press conference where he came steps that the government had taken to reduce the spread of the fever. Ipaye noted that the 20-year old Lassa fever patient is under medical observation at the State General Hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta and he's had treated to treatment. He also disclosed that they have identified 66 persons who have contacts with the victims and they are presently under monitoring. He reliable residents to be calm, noting that the state has two isolation centers prepared to cater for such situation and the state will soon be free of Lassa fever.

Army raids U.N. Maiduguri office in search of Boko Haram insurgents

The Nigeria army raids a search for a United Nations organization to find members of Boko Haram. At least 30 other properties were looted in the area because a source told the army that members of Boko Haram were hiding there. The army's statement revealed that the buildings, United Nations staff, were not designated by the United Nations, and the operation ended smoothly, but there was no arrest because the suspect was not found. The statement said the army searched the property because there were some Boko Haram insurgents penetrating into the region's trustworthy intelligence. However, a spokesman for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Samantha Newport, condemned the attack and said that the army had searched the building without permission. United Nations staff members said the soldiers forced into the building.

Osinbajo charges cabinet to implement Economic Recovery, Growth plan

Delta State Govt Approves Establishment Of 24 New Schools

The Delta State Government has approved the establishment of twenty four schools in various communities in the three Senatorial Districts of the state. Speaking after the State Executive Council meeting held in Government House, Asaba on Tuesday, the state states for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, said that out of the twenty of schools, eight are primary schools, fourteen are secondary schools including two Secondary schools that were closed down by the Buhari / Idiagbon military regime. According to Ukah, the primary schools are Saitoru Primary School, Enekorogha, Akporowo Primary School, Youbebe, Iyeye Primary School, Iyeye, and Bobougbene Primary School, Bobougbene, all in Burutu Local Government Area. Okowa Brokers Peace Between Warring Urhobo, Ijaw Communities

The two communities have been engulfed in a land dispute crisis that has now allegedly claimed the lives of two Gbaramatu youths. In attendance are top security operatives in the state, conventional rulers as well as members of the peace building council of the state. Addressing newsmen after the over two hours meeting which raised held door, the Delta State Governor appealed for calm while calling on the people to support complete police investigations. The police is confident it will unravel the mystery surrounding the alleged murder of the two youths but warns that it will no longer entertain anyone trying to disrupt the peace of the state. However, the people of Delta State are awaiting the police investigation which is called that this incident will not be numbered among the several cases of unresolved murders across the country.

MENDS pulls out of PADEF, accuses elders of insincerity

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta has withdrawn its representatives in the Pan Niger Delta Forum, a coalition of elders and leaders of the region. PANDEF has been a big factor in the ending of the resurgence of militancy in the Niger Delta but according to its spokesman Jomo Gbomo, the his organisation is the as the forum because its leaders are insincere. The development comes two days after PANDEF gave the federal government a three-month ultimatum to implement the agreements reached in the peace deal. Gbomo said the term who were silent during the Goodluck Jonathan years have nowhowhow their voice. He also accused PANDEF of distributors to the federal government through some militant groups.

Boko Haram insurgents overrun Madagali, kill seven persons

Suspected Boko Haram militants Tuesday night overran Mildo community in Madagali, Adamawa State, killing seven persons, a source has said. The source disclosed to our Correspondent that the attack happened in the wee hours of Tuesday night. The attack be after several hours after service chiefs redeployed to the Maiduguri in compliance with the directive of the acting president Yemi Osinbajo. Confirming the attack, a former administrator of Madagali Local Council, Maina Ularamu said the assailants sneaked into the town and beheaded seven people. "The attackers were to go to the town through Chakawa village and beheaded seven civilians. They also continue to appeal for deployment of soldiers to strategic villages like Chakawa, Lemu and Dabu To block them. We learnt are currently hiding in the bush around Dabu village, "he stated. Confirming the attack, the Adamawa State Police spokesperson, DSP Othman Abubakar said three of the attackers have been arrested....
